for me, I can't create any jewelry, gemstones are fine, but when I try to create jewelry, it says that the bench has to be empty. Which is odd, since there's nothing in or on the bench, that wasn't in the original object.
I ended up deleting the bench, and buying a new one, and that seems to have solved the problem, because as far as I could see, there was nothing on the table.
So I was having this same problem. Cutting gemstones was working just fine but when I tried making jewelry that stupid thought bubble with the footprints and red X kept coming up. I cleared the bench I moved everything away from table, nothing was working… and then it hit me. I had put the chair in front of the table like a desk and it was hindering my sim from working cuz it’s done in the middle, not on the side like cutting gemstones is. I feel kinda dumb for not realizing sooner and this might not be the same reason yours isn’t working but I thought I’d mention it just in case. Good luck!
