Re: [MOD/CC RELATED] Sims have a shattered/buggy face

@vetaga08 That's helpful! If you save the mom to your library and put her in a new save does that fix her? If it doesn't, does editing her in the new save fix her?

@luthienrising  I just tested this, downloading that same household into CAS in a new save (which is in my new Sims 4 Folder), and the distortion still remains.

Hi @AkennArt Are you getting new Sims in a new fully vanilla, never-seen-mods/CC save with this issue? And for the previous Sims, if imported into that new vanilla save, editing them doesn't change the glitching either?

Also, what were the presets and lashes files that you previously had? I'm also wondering if some are leaving Sims corrupted.

Would love to tease this one out, as some people have been able to resolve the corruption and others haven't. It's frustrating on the QA side here.

Hi @luthienrising Thanks for the response.  I was not getting this distortion on any new sims created in the new Sims 4 folder (no mods added back) in a new save.  But when I added a copy of my save file back and loaded that sim (still no mods or cc added back), for that particular sim, the issue was present.  When I tried to edit the brow, it did not fix the issue.  However, I read that changing the face preset (one of the Maxis ones) seems to fix the issue, and I tried that, and it seemed to work.  But only changing the face preset--not head shape or anything else.

The only slider/preset mods mentioned in this thread that I had prior to noticing this glitch was the teanmoon_mouthslider mod.  When I was teasing this out through my Mods folder, I noticed that I had some duplicates of sliders and presets.  For example, "presetmod.package" and "presetmodfixed.package" (not actual mods, just giving an example) so it was not showing up as a duplicate in my exceptions report, hence I didn't catch it.  I have removed those "duplicates" I found, but i did that while my Mods folder was saved on my desktop and I was still testing the game totally vanilla.

I'm going to load back into the game with all my mods back and try changing the face preset and see if that works with my mods in as it seemed to have worked with my mods out.  I'll report back...

@luthienrisingCircling back, it worked!  Changing the face preset (I only have Maxis face presets for children in my game) removed the distortion even with all my mods in. Hope that helps with future troubleshooting!

@luthienrising @AkennArt  I haven’t had the chance to play The Sims the past days but now that I see this reply for changing the presets I’m gonna try it today and let you know

@vetaga08 Awesome! I'm glad to hear that step helped yet another person! It's not one we usually end up having to take with this sort of CC breakage.

@luthienrising a little update to clarify something because I saw the person who said changing the sim’s face worked and it worked for me too but I think it’s important to say (because the other person said that they had custom face presets for kids) that I don’t have custom face presets I don’t know if this is something you need to know but I just thought that maybe this could be helpful to know that it’s not happening only if you have custom face presets!
