Re: Motherlode cheat isn't working

The only way to get around your issue is to go back to the map while in world management, select the family whose house you want to improve, press the more button or "..." button, select "Manage Household", and finally press the green plumbob button to mark the house as unplayed. This should allow you to enter free build mode, where it costs your house hold nothing to improve or change the house. Keep in mind that I do not play on console, in case you are a console player, so I don't know if what I typed above applies.
