Re: My Sims Keeps Crashing

The best way to do a new event is on a new save with no mods.

Please try this:

  1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
  2. Launch Sims 4. You should get no list of mods on launch, and you should have no option to load a previous save. If you do, please say so! Reset your Options.
  3. Start with New to test if your issue recurs in a new game. You can run the event like this and put your other content back later.

Okay I’ll try that now, but also regarding my older saves when i did the 50/50 method and reloaded without script mods yesterday it seemed to work but as soon as i turned it on enabling scripts is when the glitches start however i already updated my script mods. Is it possible im experiencing something related to the for rent corrupted saves glitch? Or maybe its a Macbook problem since other mac users seem to have troubles

The For Rent issue concerns individual lots (and also pre-exists For Rent).

You can't test without script mods enabled. And not all script mods that don't have updates are confirmed working. They can also conflict with each other.

If your game loads without mods, it's mods, not your Mac.

okay then thx for answering,is there any mod that can potentially tell me what's conflicting with my saves?and how would I add my old stuff back to this new save game?

also an update I tried reinstalling but now its saying there's a problem and to restart the app even tho I keep restarting it

Rinmaruslays If you have issues starting the game with mods in the Mods folder, remove them and try again. Check Broken & Updated Mods & CC and Previously Broken mods and CC. Many broken mods will produce this message. If it happens with a new user folder (see https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling/), then please head for technical support: Category: The Sims 4 | EA Forums

No, there's no app that will tell you what mod is breaking a specific save. You might try Plumbuddy for a partial solution, but there's nothing that completely replaces paying attention to mod news, plus vanilla and 50-50 testing to narrow down issues.
