I downloaded the required August 19th update, and my game is literally unplayable. I can't load any household. I've tried repairing the game, recovering old save files, disabling mods, creating new households, and the game won't load. The loading screen will pop up for a few seconds before redirecting me to the "choose a world" menu.
I struggle with the same, and its so annoying! Hope it gets fixed soon.

I was able to load a game without mods. But after adding my mods back, I get "the game failed to load. Error code: 137:f6b924f4:b266c621. It is recommended that you relaunch the game."
If thats caused by the mods then its not EA's fault. Anyone know what this error means?
I got the same message too, but after a few tries of relaunching and repairing, the game just flies me back to world screen without any message popped up. Game dont even try anymore lols
So here's my experience with this issue: I loaded into the game after the update and all was working perfectly. I realized one of my mods wasn't working and went "Oh, duh, mods are off." So I turned them on, saved my game, and closed out. Reloaded the game and started having this issue where it goes to the neighborhood selection screen. I recovered my previous save from before the update and it still was having the issue. I turned my mods off again and opened the pre-update save and my game is running fine. This leads me to believe one or more mods is crazy broken. I guess my next step is to go through one by one to find the culprit...
Same for me, game was running fine when I disabled my mods and CC. But same thing happened when I turned them back on, now my mods folder is empty after I tried the "vanilla method" to check which mod was broken. So now I basically only have base game, expansions/game/stuff packs and kits. Im now redownloading new mods slowly, then launch the game to see if its working fine.
Update: KS Education System Mod seems to be at fault here. Check if you've got that or any others of theirs.
i'm also having this issue. it's ticking me off....
Scumbumbo's Packing Crate is causing the issue, as well. All my other mods so far are working fine.

SAME... I removed mods, still won't load any household (my own or unplayed ones) I haven't played in over a month cause it was glitching / freezing so much, updated and hoped the problem would be fixed now and .. this is a new problem that's made the game totally unplayable.
