for me it doesnt work too. im really stressed out right now. this is by far the worse game patch ever in sims 4 history. do you have mods in your game. I play with mods, but not sure if it's a mod problem or something that the latest patch broke.

Mine won't load either. EA what did you do to the game with this update?

fatchick97​ leoparduniverse7​ missdee74​  Please remove your Mods folder and test again.  You don't need to save your progress, but it's important to find out whether the issue is a mod or cc item.

Edit:  For anyone reading who has the same issue after removing the Mods folder, please repair the game as well.  In the EA App, click Sims 4 > Manage > Repair; in Steam, right-click Sims 4 and select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of the game files.

I am having these same issues. I have updated quite a few of my mods and repaired my game, restarted my computer, recovered a previous save, and still unable to play a previous household. I haven't tried to start a new save yet and I really don't want to, I have a year's worth of gameplay in this save.

All of the ABOVE. 😖 I repaired. Now I'm removing scripts. 😢 

when i launched the vanilla game with last exception and localthumbcache deleted, i launched my save file, and all of the households are deleted both from manage household in other households and my households. but when i launched the other save file, (my first one), it launches just fine, and weirdly, it was able to play the household fine. now im even more worried. can i send over my save file to you by any chance?

update: when i turn my mods and cc back on: my save file still has 0 household, so that is my biggest worry. all of my households are deleted from thar save. if you can, i can send my save over to you and you can figure out how to recover the save to 8/18/2025 at 10:22PM

For those that have this same problem, its several borken mods. I've lost count of how many of my mods are broken, but I was able to isolate several of them to get my households loading again. Some of the ones that I've spotted are all my mods from icemunmun, adeepindigo, the royalty mod from llazyneiph(this one has uploaded a patch for this exact issue), all my mods that give my sims new traits are also causing this, several plant CC from different creators, KawaiiStacie's preschoolmod and Luumia's body height mods.

After I took out all of these mods I got my households running again, yet most of these mods are pretty darn important to me so I'm not playing without them. This is truly one of the worst patches ever made to this game. 

For me, I had to remove adeepindigo healthcare redux 9.8.7 (PC, EA app running), and my game is working again. Although I love this mod, i'll have to play without it until it works again. 

now im having another issue. all of the households in my save are gone. all from manage households and manage worlds. gone.

I’m going to try that because I have health care redux but that’s crazy, a few moles and freckles are breaking games!!

I'm having this exact issue as well. Endless loading screen as well as being sent back to household selection. I tried replacing my save file with a backup, deleting caches, deleting mods, and reinstalling the game. None of it works. I did get a last exception file for this, but I don't know how to interpret it. It says it's having issues with the "developmental_milestone_tracker."

Glad I’m not the only one on the verge of a crash out over this. Repaired the game - no luck. Last time this happened, it was Passionate Romance and the Slice of Life mods. I have MCCC and WW up to date. So far this time it’s been Emotional Socials and the Preschool mod. Still working on weeding out a few more I think. 

Anyone know if they're working on this issue right now? So annoyed that I can't load any of my saves

i cant build any lots! it keeps having a bug and booting me to manage worlds

IVE RELAUNCHED 5 TIMES AND REPAIRED!

I'm in the same boat. I could go into CAS with a household I already had, edited some outfits and went to play, but every time I try to load in the game it bounces me back to the world select menus. This is such bs. It's not a mod problem, either, I tried it without my mods folder and it was doing the same thing. 

did anyone find a solution to this? having the same issues as well, havent tried much yet.

I deleted these mods and mine is working again so far

having same problem why did they push out an update it wasn't needed was working on a nice helluva boss themed house even had the characters

Does anyone have the new expansion pack and are having the same problem? I don't have the new expansion pack, and having the same problem. If it's mods related, then I guess I'm not playing The Sims 4 for a long while.

they need to fix this hey ea revert to the last update

Removed WW, MCC, UI cheats and Basemental, now it's working for me 😭
