@mackenziebluth Thank you! Most likely one or all of the rugs. If you get a chance to narrow further, let me know? I'll add them to my test list, but not sure when my next round of testing might be. Meantime, I've added them to the solution post.

Hi the only one I have is color sliders updated and I even tried taking that out and it’s still crashing when I search. 

@goddess529 More mods and CC items could be causing this than have been identified so far, including new ones after last week's game update. Instructions for narrowing down the cause are here: Mod/CC Issues Be sure to delete localthumbcache when your remove or replace a Mods file.

I came back to this forum because I finally found the mod breaking my game and making it crash when I searched for items in build/buy mode! It's " {BP}_PIN UP BEAUTIES_ FRAME " !

I thought about how much I looked around and couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd add the CC here just in case anyone else runs into this issue and maybe has it installed!

I made this account to say thank you for this. I've been having this problem for such a long time, and honestly it made me not even want to play the game anymore.

My issues were the Pearls and the Rotary Phone from {BP} VINTAGE SET. I never would've known to delete them if not for this list! Thank you so much!!

Hi! I've been having this issue for nearly a year where if I search in the search bar in build mode the game crashes. I just stopped searching in it but I only now realized I might not be the only one with this issue and low and behold this thread exists lol. I don't have any of the mods/cc listed as causes except the color sliders, which I just updated with the newest version and i still have the issue. I'm thinking maybe its bc I might have so many files is why it not only crashes but the game lags to where it takes 10 minutes irl for my sim to complete an action lol. I'm on laptop instead of an actual PC so maybe my laptops trying to tell me I'm slowly offing it lol. I've done 50/50 relatively recently but I don't have time to do it all again in one sitting it usually takes me a week to do so. I have over 15k files.

@alltimejess1849 Check "previously broken" in Broken/Updated Mods & CC as well in case there's more there. For a 50-50, all items causing this are items from the build/buy catalog, so you can limit your testing to those.

It was {BP} files that broke mine as well, however, I do not know exactly which one, but the ones I have removed that fixed the issue for me are:

{BP}_SHADOW WITHIN_END TABLE.package

{BP}_SHADOW WITHIN_COFFEE TABLE.package

{BP}_SHADOW WITHIN_COUCH.package

{BP}_SHADOW WITHIN SET_ART.package

{BP} SHADOW WITHIN_SHADOW RUG.package

{BP} SHADOW WITHIN_MURAL.package
