Re: Sims 4 Mods not showing up

@purplekitty2800

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

  • I moved the Mods folder to my desktop and deleted that file and then readded my cc but when I open the game they still dont show up when I go to view my Mods/CC on the start screen in options. Is this a problem from broken cc or something else?

    Your game might search for mods in a different location than where your mods are actually stored. Don't worry, that happens quite often.

    Please check the folder, where the game is looking for your files.

    1. Launch your game to the main menu
    2. Select "Load Game" from the navigation bar on the right
    3. Click on your most recent save. You will see a small icon that looks like two overlapping squares next to the save game's thumbnail.
    4. Hover with your mouse over the that Icon . A pop up will show you the path where your Sims 4 user folder can be found

    Note that with that method you'll get the path to your saves. Default value is \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves

    Your mods should be in a different subdirectory. Default value is \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods

    Compare the path with the path you're currently using for your mods. If you use another folder, copy your mods to the mods folder, where the game can find them.

  • I did this, and I did notice they were in a different folder. I moved them to the new folder and tried to start the game, it came up with the same message as before. I attached a picture so you can see the message.

  • I did 50-50 until the game opened, but even then they dont show up when i go to options and view Mods/CC, so I'm a little confused. I checked and they are in the right folder.

    @purplekitty2800 You might have multiple folders called "Mods". Make sure you're using the right one by this method: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

    OneDrive is a common cause of this kind of mod-folder problem. If you have any Sims 4 content inside OneDrive, head here to find out how to stop OneDrive from interfering: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Sims-4-saves-user-content-disappearing-PC/td-p/12475370

    I believe I've fixed it! I unlinked OneDrive and then Mods started showing up in game, and I then realized my Kijoko eyelashes were the files that were messing up the game. I thank you all so so much, you don't know how much I appreciate it!
