Hi @c0ibltt0esiz There are definitely ways to test and remove CC without losing progress.
First, use all of the current Broken/Updated Mods lists and the "Updated" parts of the previous Broken/Updated Mods list to find some obvious candidates to delete or update. Double check that you've deleted old versions when you update because often creators change the filename. This is also a good time to check installation instructions for complex mods to make sure you have all the required parts, haven't got duplicates, and haven't got two files when you were meant to choose one of them.
If that works, you're set! Just keep an eye on updates going forward.
If it doesn't, the instructions for donig a 50-50 on your Mods folder are here: 50-50 Include the step of making a backup copy of your Saves folder. That way if you forget to exit without saving, you have that available to put back in.
I deleted some things and it ran smoothly for a while. i played for 40 mins straight with no trouble saving at all but after i exited the game and came back a few hours later, my game froze again within 5 minutes

@c0ibltt0esiz A few questions: First, does this also happen in new game? Is there something specific happening when the game freezes? And have you tried a 50-50 of your mods folder to see what else might be an issue that you didn't delete? Have you checked if you've got complex mods properly installed?
I'm also happy to look at what mods you have. One option is to have the game create a list of them:https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mod-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439359#M58783 Another is to screenshot your folder.
