Re: Toddler has no face

@lizzy11099

Please try the following in this exact order without skipping any steps, even if you have done some of these steps already:

  • Exit your game then exit Origin. Please drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. Also delete any other folders in the 'Sims 4' folder with word cache in the name. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
  • Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Do not re-add any or your Mods or CC at this time. If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see if one was conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old config file from the old mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted also.

Let us know how it goes. Thanks!

  • Hi, I am also having this same problem. I use mods & cc in my game as well. I have repaired my game and removed all my mods & cc. I have reopened my game and without all my mods & cc and my toddler's face went back to normal. I have also tested my game with the mods & cc back in the game to see if the same issue would occur. I still had the same issue. I decided to try something different and to see if this would fix it. I decided to age up the toddler to the older ages to see if it would still have no face. The face went back to normal after aging them up again in CAS. Then I aged them back to toddler to see if the face would remain. When I did that, the issue returned. So then I decided to something else. I decided to randomize a twin for the toddler. I had to randomize it quite a few times until they finally appeared with a face. Thinking the problem was fixed, I proceeded to edit the toddler like normal. I edited the everyday outfit like normal, but when I went to edit the other outfits....the issue returned again. There is a face for the everyday outfit, but no face for all the other outfits. I've read on here that an eyelash mod may be the cause for the issue. I believe it is the No EA Eyelashes mod by Cien.... I think.... I'm not completely sure. I do not have this exact eyelash mod in my game. I have several other eyelashes, but not that one. I not sure what else I can do to fix the issue. If anyone can help me figure this out or if anyone can help me figure out which mod that I have that is causing this issue, please let me know. I have a lot of mods & cc in my game. 4,130 to be exact. I don't know how to post a list of all the mods & cc I have. If someone knows how, please let me know. I would love for this issue to be solved already.

@NeciMeetsWorld Since you have a lot of mods the 50/50 method would be a good way to search for the offending Mod/CC (s):

    The 50/50 Mod troubleshooting method:
First, begin with another fresh, clean Mods folder:

    • Exit your game.
    • Move your Mods folder to your desktop. (Do not delete it – save this for later.)
    • Restart the game so that it will recreate a new, fresh Mods folder. Do not re-add your Mods/CC, but instead enter the game and begin a new, vanilla (no Mods/CC) game. Enter that new, vanilla game-save to confirm if the issues are gone. Now exit your game.

If that fixed the issue, now you need to troubleshoot your Mods/CC to find which Mods/CC are causing the issue. Use the 50/50 method as follows:

    • Divide your Mods/CC from the folder on your desktop in half.
    • Add one of the halves back into the game’s Mods folder. Now re-start the game and see if the issue is still gone in the vanilla/new game-save you made.
    • If the issue did not re-appear with those added Mods/CC you can try adding the 2nd half from the desktop. If the issues did re-appear, try only adding half of those mods and see if the issue is present in the game...
    • Continue in this pattern dividing the folders’ contents in half then half again as needed to eliminate in groupings which Mods/CC are causing the issue.

Once you find the Mods/CC that are causing the issues, check with the Mod/CC creators for updates that may fix the issues.

  • Thank you for your suggestion. I will give this a try to see how it goes and will reply with my results. I do have another question regarding my mods/cc. Is there any type of computer program or something I can do that will help figure out which mods are script mods and which are not because I have a hard time determining which is which and I feel like that would also help with issues in the future. So if there something that could also help me with that, please let know.

@NeciMeetsWorld Since I don't have mods in my game I consulted with another helper and he didn't know of a mod that would do that (sort per script mods)... But...

He did say that if you open your game's Main Menu > Game Options > Other, where you enable or disable mods, you can access the list of which mods are script mods and which ones are regular mods. Most "regular mods will have a .package extension while script mods will be .ts4script or .py python files".

Hope this helps. We look forward to hearing how it goes!
  • Hi again.. I just figured out what was causing the issue with my toddlers. It turns out it was some Hair for toddlers by AsleeStuff . I deleted it from my mods folder, reopened my game and my toddler's face was back to normal. Thank you for all your help. I'm glad I got this resolved.

Thank you!!! I've been having this issue since January and hadn't really been playing because of it. I had two copies of the AsleeStuff hair with different dates so I deleted just the older one to see. Fixed!!!

I just encountered this same issue. I follow the instructions of repairing and removing the mods files. But after repairing the game, I went in to check and her face is still not showing up 🥺

@3e91fa66b5c920f3 Please do a "vanilla" test: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

HI @luthienrising I did it as well and it still not showing up her face.  Even when I have removed the mods from the mod folder and move them to the desktop. It will continue to show only her teeth and hair but no head nor face whatsoever ☹️

@3e91fa66b5c920f3 Did you also delete the localthumbcache file?

    Try this set of instructions:

    1.
    2. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    3. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    4. Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    5. Launch Sims 4 and test in your save now
