Reshader not working in sims 4

I downloaded Reshader on my laptop and everything was working well, when I went to go add it on in the Sims 4 it said that I couldn't add the preset and that I needed to enable 'allow writing to the paths' I tried doing that by looking it up and following instructions, it still didn't work so I am afraid I did it wrong, does anyone know how to help with this?
