Retraiting Potion Not Working

I am currently trying to complete the Making Money scenario on Sims 4 on Xbox. I created one sim in CAS and then invited an NPC to join my household when my sim began a relationship with him. He has the Noncommittal trait which regularly causes him to become tense from being in a relationship which is annoying to have to keep dealing with.
I saved up satisfaction points to then use the retraiting potion on him, however, whilst I am able buy the retraiting potion and it takes 5000 sp from me, the pop-up to change traits does not appear and when I go into CAS, I cannot change his traits either.

Is this because he is originally an NPC and therefore the retraiting just doesn’t work on him (I am able to change other things about him in CAS; clothing, likes/dislikes, name etc), or is this a bug in my game?

Note: I looked into enabling cheats just to fix this trait issue but typing ‘testingcheats’ doesn’t seem to work, it just continues to say ‘Cheats disabled’ maybe due to it being a scenario?

  • @aztecpenguin279 Could you try if you changing traits with the potion works outside of a scenario ? On another save that is.

Either it's a bug that the retraining doesn't work with the scenario or it's disallowed but to make sure it would be good if you could test if it works otherwise.
  • Thanks for your reply, I went into another save without a scenario and the same thing happened so I think it must be an issue with my actual game. I’m going to restart my game to see if that changes anything but if not I guess I’m just stuck with a man who’s in a relationship against his will lol.
