So, I have a sim of Reimu Hakurei from touhou project, obviously, and her house, the hakurei shrine, was dusty. I bought a vacuum, and the option didn't appear for vacuuming. It did when I clicked on the floor, but she just walked there and didn't vacuum; it's just the go here command. HALP
@HotdogLucy , it might be one of a few things. It sounds like there just isn't enough room for her to vacuum, even if it looks like there is. That is usually the problem with the upright vacuum. You can try clicking on many different areas of the floor to see if the game will accept one of them! 😉
The other problem is less likely since it looks like this is your first time to vacuum using the vacuum your Sim just bought. Every so often the vacuum will need to be empty or you can't vacuum. But if your vacuum is new, then that shouldn't be the problem, nor should your vacuum be broken. It sounds like it is the first problem I mentioned where there isn't room to vacuum.
If you can't find a spot that the game will let you vacuum with an upright vacuum cleaner, then you can purchase a hand-vac (dust-buster) and you should be able to vacuum the counters, sinks, desks, and even the toilet! This is the best choice for small or cluttered houses! 😃

Hmm, it's not the first time I've used a vacuum. I had the Scarlet Devil Mansion in Sims 4 and sometimes the floor would get dusty, then I had Sakuya clean the floor with her vacuum. And the first time it happened; it was the roof of some sim's house. No way to get up there! I teleported Eiki and she didn't clean, why- anyways

I did not mean that it was the first time you, yourself, have used a vacuum in the game , but rather that it sounded like it was the first time your Sim used that particular vacuum,

So I was listing another way in which vacuums won't work, but also saying that this didn't sound like your situation since if your Sim had a new vacuum, then it wouldn't need to be emptied or it wouldn't be broken. 😉
