Sims 4 Bug- "Find a Job" not working

I rolled a new character in preparation for the upcoming werewolf pack, and when I went to find a job, I got an error message (did not take a screenshot, sorry).  I exited out of the message, and tried to find a job again- it wouldn't work.  I then tried my character's phone, and it also didn't work.

Tried again by deleting and repurchasing my sim's computer.  Did not work, either.  Am about to restart, but thought I'd post this now to see if someone else is experiencing this glitch.

Thanks!

Ok.  Then there is a couple of things you can try.

Try a user folder reset.  Rename your The Sims 4 folder to something else like Old The Sims 4.  Or just move it out of the Electronic Arts folder.  Start a new game.  It will create a new The Sims 4 folder.  Once you've made and placed the sim, see if you can give them a job.  If you can, then save and exit.  Then copy the saves, tray, configoverride and screenshots folders from the old folder to the new one.  Start the game and when you get to the Main Menu, choose load game and select your previous save.  Go to the household where you had the problem with the career panel being blank and see if you can choose a career.  If you can, then you're good to go.

If you can't choose a career in a new game, then you can try repairing the game.

If you can choose a career in the new save but can't choose a career in the previous save, then in all likelihood, there is something wrong with the save and you will have to abandon it.  You still should be able to save the sims and lots to your tray and then import them into the new save so you can save most of your progress.

    Hope this helps.

Are you using mods?  If you are, move your mods folder to your desktop and try it again without your mods.  This looks like a mod issue, specifically, a mod that affects the UI.  If it works in a game without mods, then you'll need to hunt down the mod causing the issue and either update or remove it.

    Hope this helps.

  • No, I'm not using any mods. I have in the past, but not recently. I wish it were because I'm really looking forward to the new pack.
