Sims 4 Careers - Issues with Lot Properties

I want to talk about something you don't mention above:
How accessible is the current experience? It's overall fine
Summarize what in the product is difficult to use. The properties of lots in the game. And your questions and answers platform. It honestly would be way easier if you could just change the lot property once you own it.
How is this making it more difficult? The idea behind sims 4 is of realistic stories. Role playing, for some. Regardless of what you use it for I can't change the type of business I want my sim to have, which makes it a bit lackluster and stale.
How can we reproduce this experience? Please don't?
I've been trying to change the property of a lot to reflect the type of business I want. So I get an empty lot, change it to a cafe, lounge, whatever and then buy it through the sim. The moment it's bought the lot automatically changes to "retail". This means I sell, change the property to reflect what I desire, and buy again only to have this repeated. Indefinitely.
I'm getting thouroughly tired of this, and it's not what I purchased. Can anyone help? Or is this an issue with EA? If I don't get the gameplay I had in mind when I bought this game, I'm going to have to chase this up with them

this isn't a bug or anything but working as intended.
You can only own the following lot types
- Retail (if you have GTW)
- Restaurants (If you have Dine Out)
- Vet Clinic (if you have Cats & Dogs)
You can't own any of the other lots unless you use a mod (I think there is one that allows you to own all kinds of lots).
