@luthienrising I just did that and it started crashing again as soon as I put my CC back in. It seems like the last update my CC is completely broken.. ☹️
@Lenaxdo Could you please test with a new piece of CC, freshly downloaded? Try something by, say, nucrests or Wistful Castle.
Might be worth also first doing a full new folder if you haven't recently:
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Make sure you're doing this with the folder the game sees.
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Exit and use a new save to do your testing before you start putting old content back.

@luthienrising I tried that out when starting with a new folder before, but it still happens. It also still happens on male sims only, so I would be able to play without creating or editing male Sims. But it really bothers me that this is the case.
I also noticed that the crashes now don't really follow a pattern anymore. I sorted my CC Folders with Tops, Bottoms, Fullbody, Furniture and so one. When I tried it first, it worked until I put Furtniture in. Then I spend hours trying to figure it out, but I couldn't. So I again put everything out and suddently it crashes with folders I already tested and worked before. So I can't even tell which CC it is at this point.

@Lenaxdo Could you please test a clean folder again -- drag The Sims 4 to your desktop -- without putting any mods or CC into your folder, and then test in a new save to make sure you don't have crashing when there's no CC? If that works, save it as "test save".
We'll go single step by single step after that, rather than trying to do a lot at once.

@luthienrising That was the first thing I did following your guide before. Started a new game without CC and Mods after making a completely new mods folder. There was no crashing. After that I did put my saves back in first and tried it again - also no crashing. The game also does not crash only with Mods and no CC. It does crash when there are no Mods, but with CC inside the folder.
Another thing I tried was: after putting everything back in, I tried to edit the outfit of my male sim and didn't put any CC on, while it is in my mods folder. I only chose base game clothes and it did not crash. Chosing CC clothes on the other hand leaded to another crash.
I just dragged the EA folder back onto my desktop and started Sims 4 again. The new save file did not crash, I was able to exit the CAS and move onto a lot without any problems. - luthienrising2 years agoHero+
@Lenaxdo Okay. Please download a CAS file from peacemaker (because I know these files are okay) and add it as the only file in your Mods folder, and delete localthumbcache. Then test what happens. Please also screenshot the whole Mods folder, including the bar showing its location.

@luthienrising No need for that anymore - I was finally able to fix it!! I had some CC inside a folder that was deeper in my folder and I overlooked for a few times, apparently. Inside was CC from Busra-tr that caused the crashes.
I was now able to testplay Sims 4 for a while and I had no crashes! So it finally seems to be fixed!
Thank you for all your help! Starting with a new folder was a good advice! - luthienrising2 years agoHero+
@Lenaxdo Awesome! Good opportunity now to reorganize your stuff 🙂 I've got some tips on that in How to Use Mods and CC
