Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator Bug

I recently purchased Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator (for PC), and found the game kind of hard to get used to due to the lack of tutorials. 

Once I had it figured out, my clients would be happy with the results, however, when the gig ends at the allotted time, I get $0 payouts and a significant drop in reputation, every time, no matter the notifications/results of the clients saying positive things about the project. 

This makes the game basically unplayable as I get $0 from my "career" and my reputation is at the lowest possible rating. It's extremely infuriating - please help!
