Sims 4 freezing...failing to save

I started playing Sims 4 this evening. After a couple of hours, I noticed the game started lagging a lot then it froze. My sims were just frozen doing their current task for an infinite amount of time and the clock was stuck...oddly enough at 9:45a.m. (Sims time). I couldn't click anything to get them to do another activity or cancel the current one. I went to go save the game and it just kept loading and loading without finishing the save. I had to force quit the game and then reopen it just for the same thing to happen 4 more times. At that point, I just gave up. I hope this will get fixed in the next patch update. My game does not usually freeze or fail to save. I have changed nothing about my game settings or computer settings to make this happen. EA, please fix.
