Sims 4 Glitches

Since the update I have noticed many issues with the game.

1) the Spy (Bug) that is planted is stuck on my sim and the sim who planted it cant do anything either.

2) Cant change bed in which newborn baby comes in.

3) Infants arent interactable. Its like they are stuck, no matter what ive tried i cant fix them or move them.

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the games, ive cleared cache as well.

  • @olju6ijh9zvi Do you have Mods/CC? if so please try the following:

    Spoiler
Exit the game. Move the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can then test without saving – or in a new vanilla game save – in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue. Then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.

You can also check the known 'broken Mods/CC lists' here:

  • I just wanted to update, Ive moved the sim into a different lot, same issues.

every time I do science baby, once they are infants I cant do anything with them.

@olju6ijh9zvi I'm so sorry for your difficulties! I'd like to add some information below, and suggest a few things you could maybe try?

    • I see on this post that some people are unable to interact with their infants,&/or are having intermittent issues with this. If this is your issue you could also add a 'Me Too' and 'XP' and your information to increase the info and affirmation level of the post: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/I-can-t-pick-up-my-infant/m-p/12387729/highlight/true#M35172
    • Another one: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/sims-INFANTS-not-working/m-p/12384518/highlight/true#M34882
    • Did you previously have Mods &/or CC in your game? If you did and anything is cached in the game still it could cause a conflict... like in this case: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/MOD-RELATED-Science-babies-not-working/m-p/12384118/highlight/true#M34885
    • Did you try a game repair?
      Spoiler
How to run a game repair:
      • Open Origin, click ‘Game Library’ then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game
      • Let it run until it has completed all repairs. It will do the base game first, then run through each of your DLCs (Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs and Kits).
    • Did you try resetting the Sim and the baby (and any object like a bassinet)?
      Spoiler
      Enable Testing Cheats:
      • With your lot open, press Shift+Control+C to open the cheat console box (upper left of your screen). Enter the following in the cheat code box…
      testingcheats on (press enter)
      (Note: testingcheats true also works)
      • You will see a confirmation message: “Cheats are enabled”.

      Reset/debug:
      • ‘Shift + click’ on the Sim or object and choose “Reset Object (Debug)” from the pie menu that pops up.

Method 2 (works only on Sim)

2-Steps: With your lot open, press Shift+Control+C to open the cheat console box (upper left of your screen). Enter the following in the cheat code box…
Enter the following in the cheat code box…
resetsim First name > Last name >(press enter)

      Options involving leaving the lot:
Many times if a Sim or object is not functioning properly, freezes, or your household/lot becomes unresponsive, you can:
      • Leave the lot and go to the “Manage Worlds” (world map). The game may or may not allow your to save when you exit the lot, depending on what is not responding. Then return to the lot. See if the game &/or object/Sim is now behaving normally.
      • Leave the lot and choose “Exit to Main Menu”. The game may or may not allow your to save when you exit the lot, depending on what is not responding. Then return to the lot. See if the game&/or object/Sim is now behaving normally.
      • Leave the lot by choosing to “Exit Game”. The game may or may not allow your to save when you exit the lot, depending on what is not responding. Then restart your game and return to the lot. See if the game &/or object/Sim is now behaving normally.
      • Try traveling with your Sim then return to the lot. See if the game &/or object/Sim is now behaving normally.
    • Would you be willing to upload your household to the gallery so I could test with it in my game? Directions:
      Spoiler
You could name it something like "Science baby test". Then please add a comment in this thread to let me know the name, and please let me know if your User ID in the gallery is different than it is here in the forum.
