Sims 4 light skinned parents get babies with dark skin?

Just a note to follow-up. I re-tried and got twins. One was properly black and the other sickly white - whiter than the Landgraabs. When I aged them up, they both turned out with skin the color of Malcolm Landgraab and blonde hair about his color. This is very poorly programmed. I was shocked to have children from the Village of the Damned given what they looked like as babies. I'm not complaining, but it was amusing. Also, the girl already has glasses, presumably because Geoffrey has glasses. Go figure. I must confess that I also find it all amusing in a very off-beat and perverse way. Perverse in the original sense of the word, not the modern sense. My 23 year old daughter says that EA are racists. A black baby doesn't turn into a white toddler, and it was black in the light.

I specifically wrote that it is not the portrait, so why are you writing a response that has nothing to do with the issue?

It's the same issue and shows up in different ways.  I can't remember when it actually started but it around the time that the number of skin tones was increased and Island Living added tanning.  The portrait was where it showed up most often.  It was patched but I still see it in my game from time to time as I play a long term save so that is why I mentioned the portraits.  I have also seen the wrong color on the babies in my game, but not since the patch.  But the gist of what I was saying is that it will self-correct when the baby ages up so the baby gets the right skin tone color that they should have as a toddler.  There is nothing we players can do about it even with mods.  Just have to live with it.
