Sims 4 New game cas stuck in story mode

@tqu7t8fwl3ps At this point - "Moving the mods and deleting the thumbnail cache, then turning on the game again" - were you able to get out of story mode? Also, just make sure, it's the file called localthumbcache.package that you're deleting?

If you were indeed able to get out of story mode with an empty mods folder after deleting localthumbcache, you have two possible start points: the Broken/Updated Mods list or a 50-50 (which can be faster than removing mods a few at a time). The 50-50 instructions linked there include making sure you have dependency mods, not just the mods from a creator. I do generally recommend starting with Broken/Updated for a patch with as huge an impact as 1.105 had. It might be enough to solve your problem or leave you with much less to 50-50 test. Check for new installation instructions when you download new versions.

@tqu7t8fwl3ps That would do it! Was it one that's been updated (see Broken/Updated Mods ), or is the most recent version broken?

It was a mod that added two more trait slots into the game. I've had It for a while and it was just outdated. As a result I guess it messed up the CAS system, so when the story mode would only create 3 traits it would glitch when I tried to get it into the normal CAS if that makes any sense. At least that's what I guess happened. I believe there's a new version of the mod out, so I just need to update it.

Hi, I'm having the same cas problem you were having but I can't find which mod is causing the problem and I have too many to go one by one. What was the mod called?

@Objbecame7 There's never a need to go one by one. If the broken/updated mod lists don't help, you can do a 50-50 test.

type in "more" into your mods folder and the more traits mod should appear, it has something with "pancake" in the name.
