Since February Ive been having an issue with my game not responding. I play on my MacBook using origin. I have a bunch of cc and mods downloaded so I thought it was that and combed through my folder. I couldn’t find the issue so I deleted everything and just decided to only download mods on cursefrog using sims 4 mod manager. But my game still won’t open and now I don’t know what to do. I reset origin, I cleared my cache and got rid of all my old save files. Nothing is working. What should I do?

I moved my mods folder out of the game and it does work but I can't seem to find the corrupt file in the mods folder. When I try to launch with the mods folder the game doesn't open at all and I have to force quit.

Ok, I followed all the steps, putting the sims 4 or the whole electronic arts folder on the desktop made the game load so much faster but now all the mods and script files are not being read or shown even though they are placed in the files what can I do about that? I redownloaded all new and updated cc and mods.

This is exactly what's happening to mine. However, I did hear a rumor that Curseforge's files were corrupted, so Ive stopped downloading from there, but it still doesn't work.

Ok, so it did work with a clean folder. You need to follow the usual troubleshooting steps - move the Mods folder out of the Sims 4 folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file then move a few Mods in at a time, launching the game after adding each batch. When the game breaks again you know there are problem mods in the batch you just added. Remove them and add in one by one until you've figured out what is causing it.

Your Mods and CC are in the Mods folder in the Sims 4 folder you moved to the desktop.

I know I moved them into the new folder that was made and now I have the same problem the game takes forever to load, forcing me to quit sims 4 because it says not responding

So the problem is your Mods/CC. You need to figure out which Mods/CC are causing the issue by removing them again, trashing the localthumbcache.package file and adding them back in batches, loading and testing the game after each batch. Once it starts breaking again you know one or more mods in the batch you just added are the problem.
