Sims 4 pop up ads- cannot play

I have recently switched over to a new gaming pc. Built. And now I am trying to test out the sims gameplay, but I cannot get past the pop up ads. When I try to close these ads, they freeze the game and my PC, I cannot even access task master. 

yes I have mods, without my mod folder I was able to close the pop up up ads. With my mods folder in, game freezes and I have to restart my pc

    This sounds like it might be trying to load a list of all your installed mods on startup, which is something the game does by default after installation unless you disable it.

    Try loading the game with only one mod in your mods folder, then click through the popups and uncheck the "Display list of mods" (or whatever it's called in the English version of the game) box when it pops up, then close and start the game again with all of your mods.

    Unfortunately you have to go through your mods and find the culprit. The 50/50 search might be a good method for this task to get a result in a reasonable time. Have a look at this post for directions >> AHQ Link

    Thank you, this was in fact the issue, since this was the first time running sims on the PC. I solved by moving my mods folder to my desktop then edit settings- by turning off this pop up . Place mods folder back into game and problem solved.

    cecestar1234 Please post to Gameplay Issues separately (assuming it happens with no mods). The cause last year won't be the cause now.
