Sims 4 realm of magic cannot ask to learn magic

I’m playing my normal two person household. One of my sims was able to ask a sage how to learn magic and the other on can only have generic sim to sim interaction the option to ask to learn doesn’t p...

Thank you so much for your help! I’ve tried all the steps with the same result (nothing for my one sim) I’m wondering if it’s because she’s also a mermaid?

@Brooklyn270 Sims can't be more than one occult type in this game, outside of occasional glitches. So if she's a mermaid that's definitely why she can't ask to be taught magic.
