Sims 4 sims aren’t showing up in game

Might be a bit of a long one but here we go:
Yesterday I booted up the sims after not playing for a few months. I updated the game, updated all my mods, made sure everything was in order. When I opened the menu, all was well, my saves were showing up.
When the game loaded nothing about any of my sims was showing up on the bottom of the screen or in the game itself. They were all gone. Weird, but maybe it’s something with the UI Cheats mod. I closed the game and redownloaded that mod.
Next time I opened the game I chose that same save except this time it brought me to the screen where I could choose what town to live in- I picked the one my sims are supposed to be in and they weren’t there.
I cleared the cache, repaired the game, nothing. I have no idea what I did wrong 😭

  • @sauyce A few questions for you:

    1. Do you still have files in your Saves folder?
    2. What's the full location path of that folder?
    3. Have you tested with no mods or CC at all? (Many mods have not been updated and are broken, and many of those have not been reported anywhere.)

    1. Yes, I still have files in my saves folder.

    2. I don't know how to find the full location path but this is what the folder looks like currently. Most of the save file icons are blank.

    3. I've taken all of the mods out but I use a TON of CC.

  • @sauyce That Saves folder seems fine, given the dates there. Time to test vanilla next: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. Let me know if that works for you. Test on your regular save and a new one.

@luthienrising Tested both an old save a new save with the vanilla game- the only save that didn't work was one I made right after everything went haywire. Gonna try with mods now
