Sims 4 UI missing and unresponsive
Hello everyone.
Yesterday, I updated my Sims 4 game after a while. Everything had run perfectly fine, until it loaded live mode.
The upper UI is still mostly intact, except for some symbols that appear to be missing - however, the lower UI is completely gone and I can't click on anything.
This means I am not able to exit the game normally, nor can I disable my mods to get to the root of the problem, as the same issues are present in the main menu.
I have looked this up and saw a thread on this very site, but nothing of the suggested fixes changed anything in my case.
I deleted the caches, repaired the game and took out all my script mods. (this includes the UI cheats, and more columns in CAS mods, even though they had been updated)
That is basicially the extent of what I can do right now, as my mods folder is very large (118GB, embarassingly enough) and I don't want to go through every single file, nor do I have the option, as it is just too time consuming. I mostly use a lot of CAS mods (clothing, hair and so on), as well as build-and buy mode custom content, and I have a hard time believing that these files are the cause of this bug.
I would like to know if I have any other options to fix this, aside from completely reinstalling the game.
I attached a screenshot of what my options menu looks like if I click on it.
Thank you in advance.
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content
