Sims 4 unplayable

My Sims 4 has been unplayable since the July update. First I had an issue with CAS where I had an endless loading screen after shift-pressing "Modify in CAS", and then I had an issue where I was stuck in an endless loading screen even after simply pressing 'Continue' from the Main menu. I tried removing all my mods, slowing adding some back, looking at the forum where broken mods were listed and removing them, but it was still broken. I stopped trying at the point where I could press Load Game from the main menu since whenever I tried to press 'Continue' or press a household I wanted to play it would send me to an endless loading screen. I updated my game since then I think twice but it still doesn't work so I don't know what to do. Today I looked at it again, tried making a New game but whenever I would type a name in for a sim it would copy it to the other sim in the household and when i clicked off of the edit name area it would show as a "____" so idk what to try
