Sims 4 won’t work with anything in Mod folder

Someone please help me! Anytime I put any file in the mod folder. I get an error message saying that the item might possibly corrupt it. Any file anything that goes into the Mara folder I get this er...

@sdoseau Right, drives formatted as exFAT don't handle .package files correctly, or at least Sims 4 .package files. You'll need to format the drive as APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

@sdoseau How is your external drive formatted? You can check in Disk Utility.

Please also try downloading a fresh copy of a mod or cc item using a different browser than the one you normally use, and see if that item works.

The format is exfat 32. I have downloaded new fils and from a different browser same issue. I’m going to try the reformat it and see what happens.
