sims 4 wont load properly

Question

my sims 4 won't load properly after downloading some cc. Had problems, it reset my entire sims and finally all the cc worked fine, but the moment i transferred my tray files over to at least get all of my gallery it will no longer load... so clearly none of the actual mods are the problem but attempting to load any save files. is this fixable?

for more info, i have my onedrive not synced with my sims files because it often caused files of immediately deleting all files in game and preventing me from saving properly.

@futileknowledge Let's step you back to a clean folder and get everything working in stages. Start with this:

Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document &gt; Electronic Arts to your desktop.
Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Start with New to make a test save, which you'll use later to test your Tray folder access.

If that works:

Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save.
