Sims 4 wont open "because the below file appears to be corrupted." error message

I accidentally installed a sims 2 cc into my sims 4 mods folder and now I keep getting the "Cannot start because the below file appears to be corrupted. If this file is a Mod please remove it and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via Origin." message whenever I try to open sims 4

I've deleted the file, repaired in origin, and uninstalled then reinstalled sims 4 (via origin) but I'm STILL getting the same message. What do I do?

    @bexybell09 

    Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
    If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

    I'm new to all this gaming tech stuff and to this website so sorry if this is common knowledge but I don't exactly know how to "test the game in a new save" so just wondering if you might be able to elaborate but completely understand if not.
