Sims 4
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.85.203.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? City Living, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Get Together, Island Living, Eco Lifestyle, Get Famous, Snowy Escape, Dream Home Decor, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Realm of Magic, Spa Day, Vampires, Movie Hangout Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Tiny Living, Toddler Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not entirely sure. It occurs every time I attempt to load up and play a saved game.
What happens when the bug occurs? * The game doesn't go full screen like it always does. * The game options menu has vanished. There are only 3 topics to select on the left panel, but nothing else shows up. * When I click on a saved game to play, it stays on the blue loading screen with the green diamond. It just won't load any of my saves or any new games I create. * Before these issues occurred, I had other issues with the build mode. Every time I came out of build mode, the characters mood panel at the bottom left side of the screen disappeared, and the control options (pause, play, fast forward) disappear also. It acts as if I have entered TAB mode.
What do you expect to see? I expect to have my game restored and playable again.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. These issues occurred after the very latest update from a few days ago.
I do have images to share, but it won't let me upload them.

1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop
2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. This is important because it can contain bits of corrupted data even after you remove your CC/Mods! Raised eyebrow This is found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.
3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list. Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game.
4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty. Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.
5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly. If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method, working in batches to see which CC item or Mod is the culprit. (You could have multiple items causing problems.)
The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place. You should try these steps anytime you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems. It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version.
Thank you!
