sims broken with no mod

So after this October 31st update, much of my cc is broken. I take everything out and remove everything I find that is broken. But for some reason, when I disabled all mods and scripts, one of my sims popped up with the broken cc texture with the question marks all over her body. I removed my mods folder, so how is it possible that there is something broken on her body?

  • @moniiverse First, do you have OneDrive or iCloud running to sync your Documents? If so, you'll need to deal with that -- Sims does not like to be synced.

If not, looks like we'll have to do a deeper clean and some testing to find what's broken for you. Let's start with a clean folder:

    • Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    • Launch Sims 4 and set up your Options how you prefer them.
    • Exit the game, copy just your most recent save file into the new Saves folder, start the game, and use "Load" to test it in this no-mods-or-CC state.
    • Exit WITHOUT saving unless you want to be putting a lot of CC back in builds and on Sims later.

If that's fixed the problem, you can start gradually adding your Mods folder content back in. Keep track of what you just added each time so you can see where the problem happened.

  • Hi @moniiverse Try deleting the file called localthumbcache. But do note that if you save like this, you'll be putting CC back on your Sim. So far, no CC has been confirmed broken by this patch, so you shouldn't need to remove it from the Mods folder. Only a handful of UI-related mods have been broken, and many are updated.
