Sims cannot publish books after Crystal Creations update

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Whatever the newest update was
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Realm of Magic, Get Famous, Growing Together, City Life, Romantic Garden Stuff Pack, Backyard Stuff Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea.
What happens when the bug occurs? No sims can publish books. The options are on the mailbox but all books are grayed out and unable to be selected.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the options available like they were before.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I updated with the Crystal Creations update. I have the latest update but it didn't correct this.

After the Crystal update my sims are unable to publish books. You can click on the mailbox options but the books are grayed out and cannot be selected. It doesn't matter if I copy them or not, which mailbox I use, or if I'm in a new house.  I updated with the new update and used better exceptions to find script issues but found none and updated all the mods I could find that had updates. Does anyone have any other advice? Is there a bug that came with the Crystal update that hasn't been fixed yet? I have Realm of Magic, Growing Together, City Life,  and Get Famous EPs.

    @BumblingBard Do you have a tool tip when you hover over the greyed out options ?

    Also rid you remove all your mods/cc, deleted the localthumbcache file and tested on a backup of your save game ?

    I followed all these steps and removed all my mods. Everything was going smoothly mod free. I added the MC Command Center mod back to test it first. The book issue is solved. What's interesting is I had been having last exceptions reports every time my sims went fishing or placed a fish in a fish bowl before. I was focused on the book issue and forgot about this at this time of the post. After adding back MC Command center I added a fish in a bowl and got a last exception again. Sims 4 Version: 1.105.345.1020 what I'm on.

    I still need to figure out what's causing the book issue but now I have this to figure out.

    I found what was causing the issue with the books. It was a mailbox I had in an older group of mods. I also discovered while testing my mods that all custom foods and drinks caused last exceptions for me. At this point everything is resolved except for the fish bowl issue. My sims can fish without problems but they can't put any fish in a bowl without causing a last exception while in base game with no cc. I noticed my cc aquariums no longer function at all either. Could be there a bug in the game itself with the fish?
