Sims children aging up when it's not their birthday

Hello, so today I loaded up my sims game, and then suddenly my child and toddler sims aged up, as did all their friends. My adult sims aging seems to be fine, as far as I can tell, it's just the kids. I don't know anything that could have caused this. The last thing I did yesterday was get my sims a new puppy and update my custom dog's lifespan on Mc Command Center, and today is when the glitch happened.
