Sims frozen, unable to pause etc but trees still moving, unable to save

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure but every time it’s happened it’s been in the university dorm
What happens when the bug occurs? I can’t pause, fast forward, reset or click my sim, sim is stick, trees are still moving, music is still playing, I can click on the calendar and the menu but if I try and save it just loads and doesn’t do anything
What do you expect to see? I want to be able to pause and just for it to be sorted

I am not sure how to go about fixing this as it happens randomly, I can’t trigger it myself, I’ve tried. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can figure out what it is so I can prevent it? I think it is mod related but I don’t know how to fix it. It’s been happening a while after I’ve been playing.
