Sims not able to do anything after HSY Pack release
After downloading the High School Years pack on July 27, 2022, my sims were suddenly unable to do anything. For example, when I click on a plate and click 'clean up', the action will join the queue. But then it will disappear like nothing was clicked. Another example is when I click on the stove and select 'cook'. The action joins the queue but then my sim complains that it cannot reach the stove, even though it's standing right in front of it with nothing blocking it. It is not a CC stove and the recipe is not a modded recipe. I do have other mods/CC installed, but they are all up to date. I have tried repairing the game several times, but nothing works. Does anyone know what's going on?
The issue you're experiencing is most likely due to outdated or corrupt mods. Many mods have broken with the most recent patch.
You would need to move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Once you've done that, test the game.
If it works normally, check for updates to your mods/CC. You can then add them back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
