This solution didn't work for me.
There are only certain NPCs that have this issue. I even got one to move in with my sim and the problem persisted.
I just did that whole reset and nothing changed.
Is there anything else I could try?
@Aurorabig There have been some bugs with the profile but I haven't heard of any issues lately.
If it's only certain Sims it's probably something about these Sims.

Long time. I've been having these issues for almost 2 years now (I just never got around to looking into it). There is this one alien NPC that is kind of important for the game, I even moved him into the world, and now when I try looking into profiles from his side: through "action" I don't get an option, from the friend list I can't even click on the sims, and sometimes when it does work I would just get a blank screen and then I won't be able to open any profiles until I restart the game. I am having this issue without mods too.
