Sims wont talk to one another

so I do use mods in my game and I recently went through them and uninstalled every mod I had, went to try to play my game and still my sims won't talk to one another. Every time I click on another sim nothing happens, the same thing if I try to get them to travel or to call someone on the phone. I've even gone so far as to uninstall my game because I don't know what else to do.
