this is what I always get. I have deleted some huge cc files, repaired my game and tried almost everything and still don't know what is the problem. can anyone help with this?

  • Hi, I have had the exact same problem! On Mac.

I cleaned out everything and started with a new clean file. I slowly added in bits from my other file and without mods and saves/trays it works fine, but then it made me so confused.

at first my mods worked perfectly fine with the new file and I thought maybe it was the save files or trays. but after deleting them, i still experienced the same issue, which means it’s probably a mod, maybe?

I haven’t activated script files, so it’s not that which is causing the crash. It’s just so annoying because I can’t enjoy my game.

it happens mostly with my male sims, once with a female sim. I’m putting on pants or a top and it just kicks me out of the game completely. says there’s an issue which caused the game to close.

hope someone can help with this.

Hi, I solved that problem days ago!

I deleted all the cc files (I needed to clean my files anyway it was about 42GB just for cc so lol) and downloaded some cc files I usually use all over again, and it was solved. I'm pretty sure it was about broken cc files. My error happened right after I downloaded a lot of new cc files, I think the problem was one of them. Some cc files can cause crashes even though they are just small package files.

and I'm also sure this is not about mods, bc my game works perfectly fine with massive amounts of mods now lol.

The game works as expected without Mods but when you add them in it breaks = Mod problem.

Mods have to be up to date and compatible with the current patch level of the game. There is also the possibility a Mod may conflict with another Mod which can cause obvious problems.

Moved thread to the Mods forum.

I also have a massive amount of mods in my game and the game works fine, but I do believe it was some broken CC that caused it or outdated ones. I’ll try deleting my mods and downloading them again, and see if the game works as normal again. Hopefully it does.

I'm having the SAME issue on my MAC with the male sims in CAS. It only happens when I'm trying to make male Sims! I've completed erased my mods folder, slowly added them in and started new saves. It'll stop at first, then it'll start happening again. Have you had any luck finding the issue??

@JaniceS992 You'll probably need to do a on your Mods folder. This means organizing the files there into bite-size batches and testing one batch at a time. For each test, delete the file called localthumbcache, then put only that batch in Mods. If your game opens, set that batch aside as "cleared" and delete localthumbcache again. If it doesn't open, take out half the batch and see if you're closer to finding the culprit. Remember to delete localthumbcache each time. You'll find some 50-50 method tutorials online too. Once you isolate the file, you can go find out if there's an updated version.
