Since the patch, my Sims are freezing?

The new patch caused all kinds of trouble. I had to remove all of the mods just so I could get into the game without it crashing. I managed to get it running with CC (since I just it for my sims entrie looks and playing without it was terrible) but how there's another issue. My sims keep freezing. I have to reset them every action. Then the actions completes but I don't see them do it. It just skips. Then their picture will have their arms sticking out for some reason. Time keeps moving but they stand still, still blinking and nodding etc while their mood bars fill and decrease. Its so weird. Is it the CC? Is my save broken?
