Slumber Parties and No Suspect
This is a report of two different issues (is that allowed?) that is completely preventing progress in my game (without cheating). I feel I must note that I have recently installed the Sims 4 on a new laptop (save file created in the past week).
The first issue is occurring during slumber parties. I have two Sims on the step to "Tell 3 Stories from a Sleeping Bag." I have now, at this point, organized 4 different slumber parties, and each time, the option to tell stories is grayed out, stating "there are no eligible Sims nearby." On my old laptop, this was never an issue, but for some unexplained reason, it is an issue on my new laptop.
The second issue is one that I've been having, just about the entirety I've had the game, which is probably about 6 years no (I don't remember specifically when I bought it, but I think it was an October, around the time Discover University was released). It is an issue with the Detective career in regards to arresting a suspect, but the suspect does not appear at the precinct. My Sim has gotten to level 9 of the career, and solving this case would fulfil the promotion requirement to get to the top level. The silly thing about this is in the week I've been playing, the Detective Career was actually pretty smooth sailing. 5 cases in a row, where I could start the work day, get the case, obtain and analyze all evidence, then arrest and interrogate the suspect all in one day without having to extend the time.
This case I have been stuck on for an entire Sim week now, because it seems no matter what I do, the suspect won't show up. I have gone and arrested this poor Sim SEVERAL times. The only time he did show up, it was too late in the workday to be able to solve the case, because after issuing the APB, he was on the second floor of a large lot (and I extended the time just before issuing the APB on the off chance he did show up). I did edit the lot, but the edits I made seem to be minor (I could be wrong). I added a second fridge and a second exercise machine on the second floor, I added lot traits, and I rearranged the room where the case map is to fit in a fourth computer and desk. I did initially color them all black, and I think the suspect showed up when I changed them all back to the default, however, when I got to Monday, the suspect was still not there.
I can try removing the lot traits, but the time the suspect showed up, the lot traits were active.
