[SOLVED] FEMALE TEEN SIM WON'T AGE UP INTO YOUNG ADULT

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.105.345.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP - Growing Together - High School Years - Cottage Living - Snowy Escape - Eco Lifestyle - Discover University - Island Living - Get Famous - Seasons - Cats & Dogs - City Living - Get Together - Get to Work // GP - Dream Home Decorator - Jungle Adventure - Parenthood - Vampires - Dine Out - Spa Day // SP - Home Chef Hustle - Paranormal - Nifty Knitting - Tiny Living - Moschino - My First Pet - Laundry Day - Toddler - Bowling Night - Backyard - Romantic Garden - Luxury Party // Kits - Modern Luxe - Book Nook - Pastel Pop - Desert Luxe - Little Campers - Decor to the Max - Blooming Rooms - Fashion Street
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I think the steps are: - Have a child female sim and age it up into a teen - Try to age up the female teen with a birthday cake, it won't give the option. No matter where or who made the cake. Also the lifebar never fills up (everyday it moves up one day. So if the birthday is on Tuesday and Tuesday arrives, the birthday in the calendar shifts to Wednesday).
What happens when the bug occurs? My female teen can't age up with a birthday cake; the options of "blow out candles" etc. won't appear for her, but it does appear for other life stages (she had no trouble going from infant-teen, and her mom could also age up from young adult-elder). I tried making different cakes (even letting other sims make it), making different sims put on the birthday candles, going to different lots and bake the cake, using different surfaces of placing the cake. Nothing helped. Also, her lifebar in the simology panel is stuck at "left 1 day". First her birthday was on Sunday, and when Sunday arrived, her birthday suddenly was on Monday. When Monday arrived, it was on Tuesday. This kept going till I played when it was Wednesday in the game, and her birthday shifted to Thursday again.
What do you expect to see? When I try to age up a teen sim with a birthday cake with birthday candles, I expect to see the interaction "blow out candles" and similar interactions when the cake is placed right on a surface.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Currently I am unable to film my game or screenshot it, so I won't be able to give more help. I can try other things (such as recording from phone) if necessary. Please do let me know.

EDIT: My teen sim was pregnant because of mods. After removing my mods, the pregnancy was already established and therefore she was still pregnant without mods and therefore she couldn't age up!

  • @Sarah8771Is your Sim any type of supernatural? Can you age up other teens?

Edit: Just read the list of mods you used to have from your other post. Is there any chance your Sim was pregnant before you took the mods out?

  • Hi,

I have recently found a bug where my female teen Sim won't age up. There is no option when clicking on a birthday cake with candles (other than celebrate). Her birthday is stuck at 1 day left; meaning that her birthday moves up by a day each day; first her birthday was at Sunday, then when Sunday arrived, her birthday was on Monday, and now Monday arrived and her birthday is now on Tuesday. Her mom (Adult) doesn't have this problem and neither did the teen when aging up from infant-teen. Normally, you can also use the cake to age up a sim early (without the glowing bar), but that is also not possible for the teen, for the mom it is possible.

The mom sim was the first in my new safe, and I created the family as a single mom with a baby girl infant (the sim I'm now having problems with).

The packs that I own are:

MODS I use in this save:

    - Shorter University - 10 credits (Peridot)

    - Loading screen changer (Starry, cloudy, day to night)

    - Lumpinou RPO (all modules)

    - MCCC + MCCC woohoo

    - Pandasama Childbirth mod

    - UI cheats extension

    - Lumpinou toolbox mod

    - Lumpinou sciencebabytweak

    - Better Exceptions by Tmex

-> The last one (better exceptions) I only put in my game AFTER noticing this problem, to test if some of my mods are conflicting and if that is the cause. However, I checked and this mod said that none of my mods were broken nor incompatible with each other.

I have tried to find solutions online, but those all were threads from years ago, that's why I opened this thread, so I hopefully find a solution. I have emptied out my cache and tried to repair my game via the EA app, but that also didn't work. I haven't tested it out without the mods, since I would lose a lot of character traits from the Lumpinou RPO mod, but if I have to do that, please let me know.

If anyone needs more information, I would be happy to help. This is my first ever thread so I'm not sure what to put in here, sorry.

! EDIT: My teen sim was pregnant and therefore couldn't age up, sorry!

    @Sarah8771

If possible, could you fill out a bug report template?

Even if the exceptions mod isn't picking anything up, removing the mods is still worth a try. I'd also recommend backing up your game if you haven't already. If you're concerned about losing the traits, you can test it out on a copy of your current save file instead, by using "save as" to make a copy and then using that copied save for your test.

Hi! I'm SimmerStar4 (they/them). I'm not an expert on game issues, so don't take me as one! I'm just a Sims player who wants to try and help fellow players, and who finds game bugs and issues interesting.

Hey, thank you for your reply! I will try those things and after that I'll fill out a bug report template. I didn't know that was a thing, so thanks (:

Hey I just wanted to let you know that I've done what you said, I've tested without mods, but it didn't help. So I have filled in a bug report under (almost) the same name. Thanks for the help! Hopefully there will be a solution soon (:

@PipMenace Hey omg I haven't even thought about teen pregnancy, with the mods she could and that would definitely explain it since you can't age up pregnant sims right?

But no, she was not a supernatural, but I could age up other teens yeah (outside of my household, such as her boyfriend and her female friend).

I will test it out if she's pregnant in a bit when I'm able to, but thank you so much for mentioning it <3 ! I'll update after 🙂

EDIT: Wait, I'll still check, but after I took out all my mods, I still couldn't age her up. Or could she still be pregnant even if I took out the mod? Anyway, I'll still check and update after!

@Sarah8771 I am unsure if an already established pregnancy would be fully removed by taking out mods, so it's best to rule it out.
