Any gameplay mod -- not only script mods! -- that's not been updated, or confirmed compatible with the game update, or actually reported broken and not yet updated could still be broken. Start at Broken & Updated Mods & CC
If you're having files come and go from your folder, perhaps you're using a syncing program like OneDrive or iCloud? Those should not be allowed to go near the Sims user folder. Support with making them go away is in the tech forums: https://forums.ea.com/category/the-sims-4-en
