Switch to residental renta lot type

I try to change my regular residental lot to a rental lot but when I have a family living on the lot, that lot type doesn't even show up and when I move the family out and change the lot type i cant change the units.

  • @LirraFlirra Do you have Sims living on the lot and is it owned? Try first moving all Sims out (you can just use Manage Worlds for this) and selling the lot. Repurchase and move Sims in after you've finished the build and unit allocation. Mods could still affect the list, as can the lot you're on (not all lots can be Residential Rental), but this would rule out an in-game possible cause on a lot it should be possible on.

  • @LirraFlirra Moving the family out does seem to be a necessary first step to switching to Residential Rental. For changing the units, make sure your mods are up to date (see Broken/Updated Mods ), and enter build mode from Manage Worlds. Residental Rental also isn't an option on every lot - you can't build these in Penthouse lots (San Myshuno), vacation worlds, or on the shores of Sulani.

Here is some screenshots of the lot types I can access. In the first picture. I only see "bostadshus", meaning residental lot, where I should see "hyreshus", meaning residental rental lot, also. In the second picture you see there is no "hyreshus" between "gym" and "kafe". Like you would if they sort alfabetically. Then in the last picture you see the extra lot type "Uthyrningshus" and I don't understand what that is. Some times when I get this to work in other lots an without mods I can get the right lot type to show up but not when I want it to. Like in my 5 generations legacy save. I really want as many sims as possible to stay living on the same lot but in different units. But I can't make my big home a residintal lental lot. And I think it is due to some mods of mine.

Thanks for the help. I think it is a problem in my save so now I have started over with my legacy from the begining. I Hope I don't run into the issue again.
