teen sims not showing up to high school

I've been playing the high school years pack since it came out and my sims have aged since. My third-generation sims are in high school now and I've noticed every time I follow them there, they are the ONLY SIMS there aside from the 2 teachers, the lunch lady, and the principal. There are NO other students, not even the ones that came with the expansion pack (I'm guessing they aged out). I was expecting that as time went on, more random sims would be attending the high school, as well as their cousins. Is there any fix to this? I do have mods, but I don't think that is the issue. Once they graduate, they graduate and I don't want to have to download another mod to fix this issue.

The Teens that came with the Expansion will have aged as well. The game should generate some random teens to show up. Are you using any Mods?

  • I do but I tried removing some of them and it didn’t work. The first one I downloaded was WW and mccc and neither of them caused me any issues.

To test. Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

  • I have more than 8 sims in a household. If I take out the mods (including MCCC) will it displace or erase some of my sims?

  • @happygirl247   Hello!  Do you have all the MCCC modules installed?  Specifically, do you have the MC Population module installed?  If so, I suspect the issue could be coming from the Populating Settings in MCCC / MC Population.  This module's default percentage of game-generated sims as Baby, Toddler and Child instead of Teen is 25% each; meaning there is only 25% chance that Teens are generated by the game.  So, as the game progresses, it will generate fewer Teens in general and you may not see any Teens after they have aged up and before the Child sims age up.

To check this setting, click on a computer in the game and click MC Command Center.  Then click MC Population and Populating Settings...

Click each one of these to see what the setting is in your game.  If you want a greater chance for Teens to be generated, you may want to reduce the number for Baby, Toddler and/or Child.  Personally, I'd rather have a bit more control over the babies being born in-game, so I would probably set the Baby percentage to zero.  By doing that, you would increase the percentage of Teens being generated to 50%.  Ultimately, it's up to you to decide which age group has a better chance of being generated.

Again, I don't know if the populating settings is what's causing the issue for you.  It's just a guess and something I feel is worth investigating if you wish to continue using the MCCC mod.  I hope this helps!
