The seasons aint working in build mode

I tried to build a christmas house today, but in build mode the season aint showing up. I've tried the cheatcodes to change the season and the weather, yet I cant build a house in winter and snow. Is this a problem for anyone else or is it just for me? Please help me. No matter what I do there isn't winter in build mode, but when I exit build mode, and starts to play with my sim, there is winter in the world. How come it doesn't show up in build mode then?
