The Sims 4 Backdrops-(Fake buildings,fake trees etc)

Yes this is possible but not super straight forward as there is no cheat to just enable them in the catalog. You can tweak the items object catalog resource (0x319E4F1D) to show them.

Example mod attached, this puts a bridge in the catalog - it is called "Sims Forever With Mods" so you can search for it.

To find the world objects, open the game packages in s4pe and search for 0x0313 in COBJ; that's the Build_Buy_World_Objects tag.

Some objects also have meaningful internal names you could search for (like "landmarkSOCB_gasStationAwning_01") -- those are in OBJD; note that the search in s4pe is case sensitive (i.e. you'd need to search for "gasStation" to find this).

I've already fixed up a bunch of them for Build/Buy (so you can use them on lots), see Architecture -- landmarks and houses and the like
Vehicles
Roads -- roads and guard rails
Garden Plots
Water

To make them show up you need to edit (off the top of my head): catalogue tags, names/descriptions, price (both in COBJ and OBJD), and the field "UnkCommon03" (I don't know what this is). See also here.

Mostly fullbuild0 IIRC.

@pbox Have you plans to convert some of these objects? It would be nice to see some waterfalls in build/buy.

@mrnhmath I posted them here so that anyone can grab them and fix them up. If you want waterfalls, look in the "Water" package .. I don't remember exactly what's contained in those, I just plunked everything in there that had an internal name to do with water/river/lake or similar.
