Surprised nobody has mentioned roBurky's mods. I use Emotional Inertia, No Happy Environment, True Happiness, Uncomfortable Overhaul, and Variable Emotional Traits. It's like a complete overhaul of the mood system and adds a lot more depth to sim emotions in my opinion.
