Time Controls Broken - Mod related?

Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue after the December update, and more specifically if anyone figured out the mod that caused it? During random periods of my gameplay, can be an hour into playtime or 5 minutes, my time controls on my UI stop working. Speeding up has no effect, pausing works, but play button doesn't work, to unpause I need to click the pause button again. Restarting the game fixes it. It's so beyond weird, and all the mods I thought could be doing this like UI, MC Command centre, are not the causes (I am half way through testing via the 50/50 method). I have no mods that influence time installed.
