I have been facing a newfound issue wherein I cannot put skin details on my Mermaid sims in CAS, this happens when I put a skin detail and add another detail, and then it gets removed. It also doesn't show up in the mermaid form.
Are you having the problem will all the body details, or just some of them? And is it with just mermaids? Some of the details use the same slot so they can't be used together. You have to choose one or the other. And CC body details are usually made using one of the game details as a base, which means that you can't use it and the game detail used to make it at the same time or with any other CC detail that uses the same base.

Yes! I have been having issues with all the skin details, from adding acne, scars, etc. Even tattoos cannot be applied ☹️ I've tested it with non-CC and CC.

I have this same issue! Did you find a solution? Or you still have it and it's a bug after update?
I updated game today and it's impossible to change mermaid look without turning them into a normal sim and then again into mermaid!

i also have this issue. i have only noticed it with mermaids, as well as a mermaid-specific bug where their offspring are entirely randomized genetically. very frustrating and honestly devastating figuring that out when aging up triplet sims to teens and they looked nothing like the mermaid parents. don't know if the two bugs are related, but both are rendering mermaids entirely unplayable for me ://
